A Dedication - Nicholas Nicklebye Ayers - 1978-1998

Nicholas was my best friend, and constant compaion. I knew him from the age of three. He was the one who came to me when I was hurt, sad, and lonely. He slept with me at night and gave me the affection and love that I craved so badly. He waited as I came home from school, andworried if I was later then normal. he sat on my face in the morning towake me up and curled up on me, next to me and around me wheneverI wasn't standing. He was my best friend, my brother and loved one.

Christmas of 1998 he passed away. It was a very sad and painful time, and still is when I think about it too much. It hurt a lot because I was not able to be with him when he did pass away, as I did not have the money to fly home for Christmas, and it hurts to think that I think he held on for as long as he did, waiting for me to come home. He was 20 years old....a ripe old age for a Siamese cat. Everyone who met him fell in love and adored him, no matter whether they were cat lovers or not. He lived a long and good life, but having lived that life so fully has made me miss him all the more, it was like losing a sibling before their time, although realistically it had been his time.

Siamese cats are wonderful and caring pets, devoted and people oriented. Like any animal, how the animal was bred and raised are key factors inpersonality. Nicky's parents were Cleo, and Cleopatra and lived amongst children and in a loving home...no wonder he was so special. I recommend a siamese to anyone wanting or needing a good companion who will always be there for you and devoted to you.
