Family is important. It is not always a pleasant experience and not everyone in the world can be blessed with a good family life, but for one reason or another family proves to be important in our lives, either from what they give us from that unit or from what we learn from it when it falls apart.

Family to me is not just those I am blood related to, although for the course of this page, family is indeed that. Family to me are those people whom I have gathered around me, grown up with, spent time with and care about deeply, this could be friends, mentors and blood relatives, as well as pets. Family is what we make it, not what we are given.

I am from the typical family of mom, dad, brother and me. My mother and father live in Kimberley British Columbia, and are getting on with trying to enjoy their retirement. Although as Mom puts it, she cannot really retire when she is still doing the same thing she has always done. She is a home maker, and a good one at that. My father is an actively retired RCMP, who enjoys skiing, walking and geneology. My mom loves to travel and owns a sexy little convertible, TR6.

My brother is also an RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman) and also currently lives in British Columbia. He is married to Noelle and they have two children, Taylor and Madison. Brent and Noelle are avid outdoors types, enjoying volleyball, snowmobiling, and camping.

Dom, my Husband is a software Engineer working outside London and loves to travel, read and go walking. I do not need to speak much of him as he has his own page you can peruse.

We have our cat Snow, who has made the long and stressful journey to the UK and spent her six months in quarantine much to the dismay of both us and her. We have set up a seperate page for Snow as she is an excitement all her own.

As well, we have a webpage for my now long deceased cat, Nicky, who lived with me and my parents for 20 years. He was like a brother.
